Green Biologics Expands in China
Green Biologics continues to expand its business in China, based on the success of its strategy of working with the new generation of biobutanol producers established in China. As part of this strategy Green Biologics is introducing its improved technology to these plants to radically reduce the cost of biobutanol production.
"China is a key market for Green Biologics" commented Sean Sutcliffe, Chief Executive. "Not only is it a substantial market in its own right, but by working with the existing producers to improve their financial viability we can rapidly demonstrate our technology to potential clients around the world."
To support this expansion programme GBL has recently expanded its team on the ground with the appointment of Dr. Jin Hou as technical coordinator for the region. Dr. Hou is a Microbiologist with a PhD in Molecular Microbiology and Metabolic Engineering, from Shandong University State Key Laboratory for Microbial Technology. Dr. Hou will coordinate GBL's research collaborations in China and spearhead the technical team working with Chinese commercial partners in demonstrating and establishing GBL's fermentation technology. Jin will be based in Jinan, (Shandong Province) where she will work alongside Charles Xu, GBL's commercial representative in China.
Fergal O'Brien, VP Commercial Operations said “We are delighted to have Jin on our team in China alongside Charles; her appointment is a key part of our commercialisation strategy in China. Having such a capable technologist on the ground to work with customers will enable us to accelerate technology roll out and growth in China."
