Dr Lee Colyer Speight

Dr. Lee Colyer Speight is Green Biologics’ Manager for Technology & Downstream Products and is responsible for searching for opportunities to enhance formulators’ ability to utilize renewable and sustainable chemicals in their work. His professional interests include encouraging the use of sustainable raw materials and more efficient processes. Prior to joining Green Biologics, Dr. Speight received his PhD in Chemistry in 2014 from the University of Pennsylvania studying under Professor E. James Petersson. His graduate work entailed the synthesis, characterization, and in vivo incorporation of fluorescent amino acids. A native Virginian, Dr. Speight is an avid cyclist who enjoys spending time biking the trails of Belle Island on the James River in downtown Richmond, VA.
