Green Compost

Green Compost isolates and develops thermophiles for the biological treatment of organic waste from agricultural and food-based industries. The company offers accelerants for rapid composting at high temperature. Microbial accelerants are tailored for specific waste feedstocks and specially formulated in high concentration with added nutrients. All treatments are optimised under carefully controlled environmental conditions.

Green Chemicals

Green Chemicals isolates and develops thermophiles to replace conventional mesophiles in a variety of commodity chemical fermentation processes [thermophiles have better characteristics than mesophiles and offer significant cost savings]. Improved microbial strains are licensed to industrial partners for the economic production of commodity chemicals from fermentation of plant-derived sugars.

GBL adopts a novel approach with regard to strain isolation and development by first isolating robust fast-growing thermophiles that can tolerate industrial conditions. GBL does not focus on product types or yields during the early stages since this can be addressed at a later stage using proprietary techniques in metabolic pathway engineering. The isolation of a robust collection or “battery” of thermophiles circumvents future process problems and provides GBL with the flexibility to target a wide range of chemicals.
