GBL and Songyuan Laihe Chemical Company (Laihe) enter into a Technology Collaboration Agreement
GBL and Laihe Chemical Co. a company focused on producing bio-fuels and bio-chemicals from non-food bio-mass resources have entered into a collaborative development and licensing agreement in China . Under the terms of the agreement GBL and Laihe will collaborate to improve the economics of Laihe’s biobutanol plant by optimising GBLs fermentation technology using sugars derived using Laihe cellulosic pre-treatment process. It is anticipated that the optimised process will be in pilot trials before the end of 2011 and will be in full commercial production in 2012
